Lunch was find your own which we duly did in one of the cafes surrounding the market place - a huge salad followed by a shared Nussknacker, hazelnuts sitting on a chocolate base with toffee drizzled over, unbelievably good. I drifted around the many fascinating shops some more - buying nothing until I discovered coconut tea with bubapops. I lured David out from his afternoon zizz to try one of these which were amazing. With a fat straw you drink a coconut milkshake and suck up the bubapops - I chose mango - which explode in your mouth with a burst of flavour. Loved it . We went out at 5 to photograph the castle - best seen from a distance - and explore some of the old narrow alleys.
When the rest if our group returned from their train journey we went in search of dinner at the old post office which had been recommended to BIll by the tour guide and turned out to be terrific and so cheap - each couple had 2 courses and a bottle of wine for €70. At 10 pm people were still wandering around the square in enough light to read by (if you felt like after half a bottle of wine. )
