Sweden's south day 12

A 16 km bridge connects Denmark and Sweden so it's not long before we are in the next country and heading towards Sweden's most southerly point / photo 1 for morning tea.

At Ystad (pronounced eestat) a local guide  whizzed us through alleys lined with hollyhocks up to the old church and monastery in time for a special treat: a group of touring Austrian singers started singing in the rose garden just as the clock stopped striking 12. That was delightful and fortunately they didn't expect us to reciprocate.

The guide had all sorts of historic nooks and crannies including a private garden to show us before we found our own lunch in the town square. This area grows anything due to the warm ocean currents and although we have missed the paeonies the roses are magnificent.

L.p.Next stop was the standing stones of Ale Stoner,  one of Europe's prehistoric stone circles - except this one is shaped like a boat - which no-one knows the origin of; how they git there or what it was for. It's popular in Sweden and a lot of people undertook the trek to them.
