Shopping in Berlin day 3

Anne and I decided not to go on the Berlin Wall tour and opted for shopping instead. First we had to solve the problem of why their travel money cards wouldn't work (answer: weird bank logic.) Once that was solved we took a taxi to KaDeWe, Europe's largest department store - rumoured better than Harrods - and celebrated with an iced Kaffee/ photo 1. KaDeWe is certainly gorgeous and we had a lovely time browsing and buying  while husbands enjoyed the austerities of the Cold War. We met other women from the tour doing the same thing. The food hall isn't as visually stunning as Harrods but the quality of design and colour is amazing. I wanted a pyramidal water jug so badly but how impractical for travelling.

This afternoon David went on a tour of Hitler's Berlin while I joined a museum tour. Mistake: my feet were worn out from shopping and slogging through museums was too much for them. I loved the bust of Nefertiti - no photo as it's not allowed. Finally I retreated to a cafe with another beautiful vertical wall / photo 3.
